What You Did Not Know About Your CT Scan

Back in June, we discussed whether a CT scan could be dangerous.  Seems we’re not the only ones with concerns.

Sunday’s New York Times highlighted the dangers of serious health risks from CT scans.  The Times investigation concluded that radiation overdoses were larger and more widespread than previously thought.  The reasons for the overdoses included manufacturing mistakes and technician errors.  Some people have been given up to 13 times the recommended levels of radiation.

The short term effects of excessive radiation include hair loss, headaches and confusion and the long term effects may include cancer, organ failure and brain damage.

The FDA has started an investigation but has not yet acted on the documented cases of radiation overdose.

If you have received an overdose of radiation then you may be at risk of serious side effects and life threatening conditions.  Contact a CT Scan injury lawyer today for more information about your rights.
