Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority Receives Important Award

This year the Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP) will honor six individuals or groups with a Cheers Award for “superlative standard of excellence for others to follow in the prevention of medication errors and adverse drug events.”  The Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority will be one of the distinguished recipients of this award next month in Anaheim, California.

The Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority is being given this award for its educational efforts in preventing medication errors and adverse drug events.  Pennsylvania is seen as a model for state run programs that collect data and work to improve patient safety.
