Is Your Child Getting the Medical Care She Deserves?

A recent report by the Institute of Medicine and the National Research Council highlighted a concern about measuring the quality of care provided to children in this country. Currently, the United States lacks a unified system to measure the quality of care provided to pediatric patients.

While there are some systems in place to measure pediatric health care quality, the information is fragmented and hard to put together in a fast and meaningful way across the different groups that might benefit from such information.  For example, different standards and definitions are used that could create problems in putting the data together.

As a group, our children deserve the best quality healthcare that we, as a nation, can provide.  Individually, our children also deserve medical treatment that is free from preventable medical mistakes.
