How Many Hours a Day Does Your Nurse Work?

A new study suggests that the answer to that question may be very important.  Specifically, the study finds that patients in hospitals where nurses work long hours are much more likely to die of heart attacks and pneumonia than patients in other hospitals.

Typically, nurses work 12 hour shifts in the United States.  The study suggests that 12 hour shifts may not provide enough time for nurses to get enough rest to be alert and to avoid making critical mistakes on the job.

If you have been hurt, or if you have lost a loved one because of a negligent nurse then you may be entitled to damages.  Contact a Pennsylvania medical malpractice lawyer today for more information.
