Heart Surgery in Pennsylvania

Last week, the Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council released new information about heart surgery in the Commonwealth.  According to the report, the number of heart surgeries performed in this state has dropped and the outcomes for patients who have had the operations performed have improved.

Yet, some hospitals still had higher than expected in hospital or 30 day mortality rates.  In the Philadelphia area Abington Memorial, Aria Health, Chester County, Hahnemann University, Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Jeanes, Lower Bucks, Pennsylvania, Phoenixville, and Thomas Jefferson University all had higher than expected in hospital or 30 day mortality rates.

If you have suffered from heart surgery related medical malpractice in Pennsylvania, please share your experience in the comments so that others who may be going through something similar can learn about what happened to you.
