Abortion Clinic Bill Heads To Governor Corbett

Just before the Pennsylvania Senate adjourned for the holiday break, Senators sent a bill to Governor Corbett that would reform abortion clinics in the Commonwealth.

If the bill is signed into law, clinics will be required to meet the same regulations and requirements as ambulatory surgical facilities. Opponents of the bill argue that the bill is too restrictive and will force safe clinics to close thereby denying women access to safe abortions. Supporters of the bill argue that the additional restrictions will prevent the types of issues that are alleged in the Kermit Gosnell abortion clinic case.

Is this regulation necessary or excessive? Do you support it or believe that it will harm women seeking legal abortions? Please leave a comment and let us know what you think.
